The difference between self-love and self-care…

February is the love month thanks to Valentine’s Day.
I’ve never celebrated it in the ‘normal way’, with chocolate and roses, because it’s always felt a bit too commercialised for me. But like all holidays, we can celebrate them any way we like and I think that this can be a reminder for you to find and cultivate SELF-LOVE.

What’s the difference between self-love and self-care?
Self-care are the actions we do to take care of ourselves (right?). But we can easily send ourselves down a rabbit hole of self-indulgent behaviour designed less to make us feel good and more to stomp out the feelings we have of not being “enough.” This word “enough” is the key to understanding what self-love really is. Deep rooted self-love lets us know that it’s OK to be what we are, where we are. With true self-love, there is no idea of enough. It is a deep rooted contentment and love for you – knowing that you are more than just your body, more than just your experiences, more than just the sum of your parts.
